About
Personal Improvement Through Application
You need to put the personal improvement principles you already know into application. The majority of people are having trouble in the application of what they know about personal development; not in the lack of knowledge. It’s the actual application into our daily lives where most of us stumble.
Moving from book to book; audio program to audio program; seminar to seminar won’t improve us one bit. We’ll think we are changing and in one sense we are - in our knowledge. But knowledge is one thing; application is another. All the knowing without the doing is futile.
For truly it is in our application of knowledge that sets us apart from the rest. For to know is to know, but to apply is to experience. And experience is worth a thousand knowings.
So why is it that you don’t work on taking what you know and make the changes in your life?
This is what I’m going to try and address with this website and I’m going to do it by using myself as an example. I will use real life examples of how I integrate self improvement principles and ideas into my life.
I will share successes as well as failures setbacks and I look forward to hearing advice, stories and constructive criticism from my readers.

- Taught self improvement classes to adults using basic fundamental principles and how to integrate them into daily life.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Became a Police Officer at age 36 graduating first in my class.
- Studied personal improvement for over 2 decades.
Some Job hats I’ve worn:

Some of my strengths:
- Problem Solving is my strongest skill.
- Ability to see things from multiple points of view.
- Learn extremely fast.
- Can hyperfocus to extremes (sometimes a negative).
Some of my weaknesses:
- Get bored very easily.
- Need constant stimulation and feedback.
- Trouble holding focus for long periods of time (wandering mind).
- Hyperfocus to extremes neglecting other areas of my life.
Things I am working to improve:
- Recently diagnosed with adult ADD. This explained a lot of my frustration and feelings of underutilizing my potential. Also explained my ever changing focus (wandering mind) and problems with goal setting and long term follow through in areas without solid structure.
- Creating a structure to help me keep focus on the important things I need to be working on. This includes a goal setting/achieving program, a schedule and a system of accountability.
- Becoming a realistic optimist.
- Defeating self-limiting beliefs and thoughts.
- Working on my physical to get down to 10% bodyfat through nutritional changes and exercise.
- Improving my writing skills.
I currently live in New York with my wife and two children.
